Differences in Specifications

We tested both stock and overclocked settings for the applications. The cores on the Ryzen 5 5600x were overclocked to 4.7 GHz, while those on the Ryzen 7 3700x were overclocked to 4.3 GHz. While Ryzen 5 5600x has a 400 MHz clock speed advantage, the Ryzen 7 3700x has more cores and, therefore, more potential for overclocking. That’s what we’re hoping to find out during the trials.
Overclocked or not, the 3700x performs better in multi-core performance in the Cinebench R20 test than the 3700. The 3700x outperformed the 5600x by 8% when all cores were overclocked. However, this isn’t a significant difference considering the 3700x has 33% more seats. However, the Zen 3 design of the 5600x resulted in an 18 percent increase in single-core performance.
Due to the greater core count, the Ryzen 7 3700x beats the Ryzen 5 5600x in the Blender test. The 3700x is 15% quicker than the standard clocks in all workloads in the OC test, with a similar margin. Because of those more cores, it still outperforms the 5600x in every way.
